Venue: Colosseum @ iluma 7th floor, BUGIS
Time: 11am to 5pm
Colosseum has offered to allow our EPIC champions to play at an EPIC discounted rate of $1/hr at the premises between 11am to 5pm!!!
We encourage you to take part so that you can:
- get a feel of the competition mood by playing @ the competition venue!
- make new friends and exchanges skills as we help you arrange matches with other EPIC participants!
EPIC Tees will be made available for collection on the day!
There are limited sizes at a first come first serve basis so come a down and get your EPIC Tees before your size is gone!
2) EPIC Briefing cum Draw Ceremony (Compulsory)
Venue: Colosseum @ iluma 7th floor, BUGIS
Time: 1030am to 1230
All EPIC participants are required to attend the briefing. Teams are required to send at least one representative (recommended to be team leader).
EPIC Champions must attend the briefing because!

- Brackets of the EPIC competition will be drawn/released

Walk in payment & registration is available on the 12th Nov @ Colosseum between 12pm to 6pm during the training/networking session!

We've had many questions regarding the EPIC e-Sports convention 2010!
This post is dedicated solely to answer these burning questions!

Qn1) How do I make payment for EPIC @ the Community Clubs?
Answer: You can go to any Community Club/Centre (CC) in Singapore, approach counter staff inside the CC and tell them that you want to make payment for the EPIC e-Sports Convention 2010/Gaming Competition that is organized by Telok Blangah Youth Executive Committee (YEC).
The staff at the CC will then look up the www.onepa.gov.com for the competition are you making payment for and help you to process it.
Qn2) Can't find the payment link on One.pa.gov.sg ?
Answer: After logging on to one.pa.gov.sg website, search for EPIC under the ACTIVITY category and the 4 competition payment tabs will appear
Qn2) Forgot to Print your Receipt after completing online Payment?
Answer: You have to obtain the reciept number again to complete registration!
Follow the steps below:
1) proceed the any Comunity Club (CC) near your place
2) Tell the CC stagg that you have made payment online for the EPIC e-Sports Convention 2010 that is organized by Telok Blangah YEC!
3) Provide them with your NRIC/FIN
4) Request for the payment receipt to be printed
5) Use the receipt number to complete registration!
Qn3) Can I participate in the competition if I am 17 year old and below?
Answer: Yes of course you can participate! We welcome all youths from aged 12 to 35 and the age range is really just a guideline. However, youths aged 17 and below need to fill up the parental/legal guardian consent form and pass it to the organizers on the day of the event (Preliminaries). Without the parental/legal guardian consent form, we cannot permit any aged 17 and below to enter the competition.
Qn4) How do I know that I have successfully registered for the EPIC e-Sports Convention?
Answer: After paying and sending in your registration form to epicconvention@gmail.com, participants will receive a notification email from the organizers to confirm their successful registration.
Qn5) I would like to register for EPIC but I can't make it for one of the preliminaries on 14th and 21st November
Answer: The preliminaries on the 14th and 21st is separate which means that if you play on the 14th Nov, you will not be playing on the 21st of November! If you are not able to make it for one of the preliminary dates, you can email us @ epicconvention@gmail.com to request for the preliminary date that you will be able to make it! The EPIC committee will look into the your request and the validity of your reason before allocating your slot!
Qn6) How does the StarCraft 2 competition format work?
Answer: In the preliminaries, the format of SC2 is group stages and Best of 3 (3 games) for each match. 1 out of 4 players in the group stages will emerge to play in the finals. Format of the finals is double elimination!
Qn7) Am I able to get a refund if I cannot make it for my competition day?
Answer: No, you are not able to get a refund if you cannot make it on your allocated competition timing. Refund is only allowed due to medical reasons such as hospitalization or due to any contagious disease that you have been infected with.
Qn8) Apart from participating in the competitions, how can I be part of EPIC?
Answer: There are many ways to get involved in EPIC.
-Firstly, if you are experience in game marshaling, you can volunteer to be a game marshal for EPIC.
-Secondly, the EPIC e-Sports community by actively participating in the discussions we have on our Face Book page at www.facebook.com/epicconvention
-Lastly you can support our EPIC participants and cheer them on as they make their way to become the first champions of EPIC
Qn9) Is EPIC going to be a one-off event?
Answer: No! With plenty of support from the community, media and industry partners, EPIC will grow to become a prominent gaming competition dedicated to make a difference for the community in Singapore in many years to come!

EPIC Starcraft 2 will not Clash with SSL!
Hello Everyone!
After discussion with the organizers of SSL, we have come to an agreement that the EPIC Starcraft 2 competition will not be held on the 27th of November at all & thus will not clash with SSL!!!
EPIC Starcraft 2 Competition Dates: Preliminaries 1 & 2: 14th & 21st November
Finals: 28th November!
We have made this arrangement so that the Starcraft 2 community are able to support both events! Lets make November a Fun filled month for Starcraft 2 !

Changes to the Blackshot Competition Rules!

There has been a change in the blackshot competition rules!
The down loadable rule set in the sign up page will be in a moments time!

EPIC E-sports Convention 2010 Game Rules (Blackshot)
Blackshot
1 Game format
Version: Latest in-game Patch
Mode: Team Flag Match/ Search & Destroy/Team Death Match
Competition Method (Prelims): 5 vs. 5, Best of 1 round, Group stages
Competition Method (Finals): 5 vs. 5, Best of 1 round, Double elimination
Match Winner: The team who has the most matches of game modes after either 2 or 3 rounds of gameplay, A 3rd round tie breaker is played if there is a tie after playing through the TFM and SD game modes.
Platform: Garena Client
2 Game Settings
Coin Toss
-Before a match, a coin toss will be conducted
-Winner of the coin toss will get to choose the map for either TFM or SD
-Loser of the coin toss will get to choose the map for the game mode that has not yet been chosen.
-For example, if Team A wins the coin toss and chooses Sand Storm I for TFM, Team B will get to choose their preferred map for SD, either Sand Storm II, Titan Valley or Crack Down.

-2 rounds of 120 points, 10 minutes game play (1 side each)
-Each round ends when a team scores 120 points or 10 minutes round time is over
-Winning team will be decided with the team with the highest total score after both rounds are over
-Cash weapons are allowed except for the following stated: Flash Frag, T1 Grenade, Scopes, Silencers, M60, Barrett, Cheytac, AWP Black, Enfield/Camo, PPSH 41, MAT 49, SIG 552, Holy Shotgun, Ghost AWP, Jack O Flash Frag, UAV item and Medkit 2.
-Gears allowed: All gears
-Tactic slots allowed: All tactic slots are allowed except for Cash Tactics
-Maps: Sand Storm I, Broken City II, Hunting
Search & Destroy
-5 rounds of 2 minutes 30 seconds per side / 2 sides in all
-Each side ends when a team scores 5 points
-Objective is to score 5 points on blue side and 5 points on red side for a team. The game immediately ends when a team has no way to catch up in score.
-Weapon restriction: 1 Sniper only per team. (No picking up of Sniper Rifle once dropped)
-Cash weapons are allowed except for the following stated: Flash Frag, T1 Grenade, Scopes, Silencers, M60, Barrett, Cheytac, AWP Black, Enfield/Camo, PPSH 41, MAT 49, SIG 552, Holy Shotgun, Ghost AWP, Jack O Flash Frag, UAV item and Medkit 2.
-Gears allowed: All gears
-Tactic slots allowed: All tactic slots are allowed except for Cash Tactics

3 Additional information
-Changing of “HOST” when the match has begun is strictly not allowed, doing so will result in a default map loss • Intentional or non-intentional use of any bugs/ in-game Glitch (Knife Bug, Shots becomes Knife Damage) or any kind of usage will result in a loss or disqualification.
-Any accounts found have fast respawn during the period of the tournament are not allowed to be used.
-Players are to use their own accounts during the tournament.
